The industry is inundated with screenplays. With a gaggle of geese, how do you stand out and get noticed?
The pursuit of excellence is within your grasp to get your screenplay to stand out from the competition. With this high volume of scripts submitted these days, it takes that little bit extra to push your editing to get a smooth read and have a happy script reader.
Learn some of the tricks you can employ to apply to your editing phases as you look over or rewrite your screenplay.
One of the best tips I can give you is to leave your screenplay aside for a week to a month and let yourself clear your head and release the precious ties you might have. Then you can come back to your screenwriting and make a good go of an editorial pass with more scrutiny and polish your action description to remove any buffs which might upset the flow of the read.
In this video I provide a working example of a sample client screenplay, (with permission from the anonymous author) to illustrate the level of detail you can go to with your editing.
